Greening of the Forsyth Park Fountain in Savannah!

The Greening of the Fountain is coming up this Friday, March 9, 2018 - 12:00pm . Don't miss out on this extraordinary event in Savannah's beautiful Forsyth park!

Tomorrow, Friday, March 8th is the Greening of the Fountain in Forsyth Park at 12 p.m.!

One of the biggest St. Patrick’s Day traditions that dates back to over 30 years in Savannah is to dye all of the fountains in town green.

It’s an annual tradition in where all of the fountains stay green throughout the duration of the St. Patrick’s Day festival to honor Irish heritage in Savannah.

To kick it off, everyone’s favorite fountain in Forsyth Park turns green first!

Family and friends gather in the park to watch the St. Patrick’s Day Grand Marshal pour the green dye into the water.

Every year, WTOC holds a coloring contest for one special child to participate in this tradition and help out the Grand Marshal.

The winner of this year’s WTOC Coloring Contest, Maddie Davis, will be doing the honors of pouring the first bucket of green dye into the fountain.
