Harry Connick Jr. returns to Savannah in December!
Most Americans believe that the spark of Harry Connick Jr’s professional musical career began with his soundtrack in When Harry Met Sally in 1989.
And for the first time since 2007, world-renowned musician and actor, Harry Connick Jr., will grace Savannah with his dreamy presence and masterful melodies. During that same performance, he invited Savannah’s own, Kim Michael Polote, a multitalented singer, artist, and entertainer, to sing a with Harry and his orchestra on stage, which resulted in an astounding concert and a standing ovation.
Often referred to as the new Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick Jr. insists, “I think people will soon realize that I do a lot more than interpret old songs.” Comparable to the celebrated southern jazz vocalists, Frank Sinatra and Johnny Mercer, Harry Connick Jr. unites a new age air to the romantic tones of the 1920s through the 1950s. Throughout his career, Harry Connick Jr. has performed seven covers of Johnny Mercer’s compositions to include an epic rendition of “Charade” on his first Savannah performance in 1999.
Accordingly, Harry Connick Jr. will be performing again at the Savannah Civic Center Johnny Mercer Theatre on the 9th of December at 8pm with his incredible band during his New Orleans Tricentennial Tour.
