Get a close up view of the Rose Windows at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah Georgia.
Also known, as “The Cathedral’s Rose“, The Rose Window graces the west facade of Savannah’s Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. This large circular window derives it name from the stone traceries, that separate the glass and radiate from the center like the spokes of a wheel, resembling a rose and its petals. It cost $400 in 1900 when it was installed but a valuation in 2000 pegged it’s replacement cost at about $125,000. But parishioners will tell you that when the sun slips through the windows in the late afternoon the view is priceless.
