Captain America walks from Tybee Island to Richmond Hill

Cesar Arocha walked 70 thousand steps (thats 36 miles) from Tybee Island to Richmond Hill, Georgia to bring awareness to the students, teachers and faculty that have lost their lives in school shootings.

On Saturday the 10th, Cesar Arocha dressed as Captain America walked 70 thousand steps (thats 36 miles) from Tybee Island to Richmond Hill, Georgia to bring awareness to the students, teachers and faculty that have lost their lives in school shootings.

Cesar started his thirty six mile walk at 4am on Tybee Island and began walking making stops at milestones where his wife made sure he was hydrated and cooled off along his journey. He walked meeting people along the way who cheered him on, honked their horns in support and even stopped and prayed for him. He ended his journey in Richmond Hill at around 6pm that evening. With sore feet and nearly exhausted from the heat and the hike, he knelt down on the lawn at the YMCA and thanks God for being with him along the way.

He hoped that this year, being the first walk, brought awareness and helped to remind people about the ones that have lost their lives in America’s senseless school shootings.

Next year he encourages others to join him as Captain America during his walk next year or at least part of the way.

You can visit his website to learn more about his effort to show compassion and love for kids and adults alike and to embrace the life that we each have.
